Amateurs against Professionals! NetWars Cyber Challenge @ SANS London 2012
NetWars is built on the idea that the best way to learn is actual hands-on experience in real-world scenarios.
With five comprehensive levels, NetWars has something to offer everyone, from those just starting to develop
their skills, to seasoned experts with the latest cutting-edge techniques and on 2 December, those coming
through the relevant virtual competitions will have the opportunity to see how they match up to cyber security
This is a unique opportunity. If you have any staff who work within Cyber Security this is a chance to assess
their ability and see whether any development is required.
Rather than a formal training course, NetWars takes the participants through a challenge to help develop their
skills in a number of critical areas.
It is a computer and network security challenge designed to test experience and skills in a safe, controlled
environment and it’s fun!
Now is the ideal chance to see how your staff measure up against other professionals.
There is limited space - a maximum of 50 can play - Normally €1,000 a place, SANS is offering this training
at a special price of €320 half of which they will donate to Cyber Security Challenge UK. This is a considerable
saving on the normal price of €1,000
Date: Sunday 2nd December 2012
Time: 3pm - 5pm
Location: The Grand Connaught Rooms, 61-65 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5DA

SANS are also making this available to Amateurs - we have 30 places to give to those who do well in the
relevant virtual competitions, so we will be able to compare how well the Amateurs do against the Professionals!
Participants recover flags throughout the NetWars environment indicating that they've mastered each challenge.
Their scores are then displayed on a dynamic real-time scoreboard, showing their accomplishments.
In addition, NetWars generates a scorecard for each participant and their sponsoring organization, indicating
skills that they've mastered, as well as areas where further skill development is needed.
NetWars is typically used by enterprises and organisations as a hands on, realistic environment in which to
identify those with aptitude for further cyber security training
Don't delay - find some of your key security staff and reward them with this opportunity to develop their skills.
