What do you love about working for Cyber Security Challenge?
The people we work with! There are so many supportive, creative and interesting people we get to speak to who really want to help and mentor newcomers into the cyber security industry.
What has been your most memorable Cyber Security Challenge highlight?
Seeing the teams compete at the European Cyber Security Competition we hosted in London 2018. It was great to watch them working together to solve the challenges, showing off their deep skills and enthusiasm for cyber.
What’s one myth about the cyber skills gap you would dispel?
That the skills gap will resolve itself without serious investment in the early years by the companies that will need that talent in the future.
What would you say to your 10 year old self?
Bet you can’t guess what you’ll be doing in 40 years time…
What advice would you give to someone looking to start a career in cyber security?
Go for it – this is a career which will keep you learning and developing for a lifetime. Talk to people already in the industry and find out what you might enjoy working on. It doesn’t matter whether you’re business or tech focussed, we need skilled people in so many areas of cyber.
