- The Cyber Trust pioneers a novel internet safety app known as SpeakOut!
- Tackling the topics of cyber bullying, grooming, sexting, fake news, body image and racism.
- Additional storylines will be added in the coming months.
- Guiding for Gloucestershire and Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre have contributed to the development and rollout.
Available on Android and iOS, SpeakOut! has been designed for use in schools nationwide.
SpeakOut! is the result of an exciting collaborative effort involving The University of Gloucestershire, the Gloucestershire Constabulary, and others driven by a growing need for support specifically targeting 10-14 year olds as they face increased challenges as preteens and young teenagers growing up in a highly connected environment.
For example, the app tackles the topic of cyberbullying, featuring tools and techniques to help users recognise the signs someone might be experiencing bullying online, the signs of bullying behaviour and how to respond.
